About Us

The International MAOI Expert Group unites clinicians and researchers with specific expertise in the pharmacology and clinical use of the classic monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants (phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid). The Group has recently authored two Prescriber’s Guides on MAOI treatment and on the MAOI diet—these are comprehensive, state-of-the-art guidelines based on high-quality clinical evidence complemented by a broad expert consensus; together, these sister publications have set a new benchmark in the field of MAOI research, with directly applicable treatment recommendations for clinical practice.
